HiGHmed workshop in Goettingen

Members of the HiGHmed consortium and collaborative partners convened on an intensive and lively three day workshop on December 13th - 15th, 2016 in Goettingen. The meetings took place at the Convention Center by the Observatory and in the historical building of the Goettingen State and University library, with the possibility to visit the historical library hall of the Pauliner church.

The concepts of four of the five targeted work packages were communicated in a large group. The work packages discussed were the technical concept, the use case concept, the teaching and training concept and the concept on ethical, legal, social implications including data security and privacy concept. Of central importance were the presentations of the three use case concepts “Oncology”, “Infection Control” and “Cardiology” from clinical representatives from the three university hospitals in Heidelberg, Goettingen and Hanover and bioinformaticians from the DKFZ in Heidelberg. Partners from industry and academia gave valuable input on the required application systems and tools to define the technical solution process for full data integration of the data sources.
