1000th Patient Enrolled in Use Case Cardiology Registry
The enrollment of patients in the study registry “HiGHmed – Use Case Cardiology” (HiGHmed-UCC) began at the end of 2018. The study is officially registered in the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS). HiGHmed can proudly report that by the end of 2019 the 1000th patient has been recruited to the study. This case study, currently spanning the five clinical sites Heidelberg, Göttingen, Hannover, Würzburg and Kiel, is concerned with the establishment of a chronic heart failure patient registry as part of the HiGHmed consortium, which is delighted that the clinical site Berlin will support the use case study in the future. A new patient flyer containing consortium-based information and details of this use case in particular, will help to further drive recruitment. Furthermore, a biannual follow-up has already started, curating information regarding patient rehospitalization and additional data relevant for the planned subsequent data analysis. Implementation of wearables and apps for collection of longitudinal data such as activity and heart rate as well as patient related outcomes (PROs) in the use case in beginning of 2020 are also awaited with excitement. The Use Case Cardiology has therefore begun 2020 with great motivation and with grounds for great optimism.
